40 Hadiths For Children With Stories (PDF)
Using stories is a wonderful way to teach children important lessons. As they grow, they’ll need your help to understand life better. Introducing them to the valuable teachings of Islam through the 40 hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) is crucial. Our book, “40 Hadiths for Children with Stories,” is perfect for this purpose.
These stories are made especially for kids to help them understand and remember the important teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him). It uses stories and pictures to explain forty hadiths in a way that kids can easily understand. After each story, there is a hadith from Prophet Muhammad that relates to it. This makes it easier for kids to learn and remember these teachings.
Story 1: THE BIRDS
Once, a hunter laid his net near a stream, attracting many birds with the grain inside it. When he returned to collect his catch, the birds cleverly flew away with the net. Amazed by their teamwork, the hunter followed them, hoping to catch them later.
Along the way, a man he met laughed at his plan, but the hunter remained determined.
As night approached, the birds, each wanting to return to their nests, tugged the net in different directions. Their lack of unity led to their capture.
Had they followed a wise saying of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) to fly together, they wouldn’t have fallen into the hunter’s trap.
“Do not separate from one another! The lamb that abandons its herd will be eaten by the wolf.”
Story 2: THE THORN
Once upon a time there was a terrible punishment in a far away country. They were throwing the criminals to the hungry lions. People would gather to watch this horrifying punishment.
The criminal that day was a slave who had escaped from his owner. He was left in the middle of an arena surrounded by high walls. A hungry lion entered into the arena. At first, the lion seemed ready to attack the poor man, but then it stopped and began licking the slave’s hands!
The crowd were surprised. They asked the slave why the lion had not attacked him.
The slave said: ”One day, I saw this lion in the forest. The lion had a thorn stuck in its paw, causing it great pain. I removed the thorn, and ever since then, we have been good friends.”
People got touched by this story. They released both the lion and the slave. To everyone’s surprise, the lion began following the slave like it was his pet cat.
What a wonderful saying of our Prophet:
“God shows his mercy to those who are merciful. Have compassion to creatures on earth so that those in heaven may have mercy upon you.”
Story 3: The Coat
Ahmad the shepherd has had a very sad life. He lost nearly everything he owned during the terrible years of war. His wife passed away, and he also lost his son. When he lost his job in town, he began to work as a shepherd in the countryside.
One day, while his sheep grazed near the road, Ahmad noticed a group of people taking a young man to the hospital in town. It was clear that this young man was even poorer than Ahmad. He was shivering in his thin jacket. Ahmad the shepherd immediately took off his own coat, which he had owned for years, and put it on the young man.
While the young man waited in the hospital to be examined, he was shocked to hear someone call him “Dad.” He looked up but couldn’t recognize the young man standing in front of him. The young man who had called him “Dad” was also surprised.
The young man quickly apologized, saying, “I’m sorry, sir. I mistook your coat for my father’s, whom I haven’t seen for many years. I thought you were my father.”
After getting well, the sick man helped the young man find the true owner of the coat, Ahmad the shepherd. They realized through their conversation that the young man was indeed Ahmad’s lost son.
How true is the saying of our beloved Prophet,
“Every act of kindness is rewarded many times over.”
